Antaike: China to add 3 million tons of aluminum production capacity in 2021

According to Antaike, a Chinese state-owned research firm, China will have new aluminum production capacity of 3 million tons in 2021, more than 50% of which will be from emerging smelting areas in Yunnan province.

Antaike expected that Yunnan province will add 1.88 million tons of aluminum production capacity next year and 1.63 million tons this year. Besides, the new aluminum production capacity next year for Guangxi will be 370,000 tons, and that for Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, and Guangzhou will be 550,000 tons, 100,000 tons, and 100,000 tons, respectively.

Antaike also estimated that China will have another 6.7 million tons of alumina production capacity in 2021 and 4.6 million tons in 2022.
