BHP Billiton outputs first batch of iron ore at South Flank mine

It was reported that the global leading mining company BHP Billiton (BHP) output the batch of iron ore at its US$3.6 billion South Flank mine in the central Pilbara, Western Australia.

The sustainable output of South Flank after its commissioning is 80 million metric tons per annum, and the mine is also one of the most technologically advanced high-quality iron ore producing areas in Western Australia.

South Flank and BHP Billiton's Mining Area C will form the largest iron ore operation hub in the world, with a total annual output of 145 million tons.
