Brazilian iron ore exports up in May

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil exported approximately 27 million tons of iron ore in May, going up by 4.3% in the previous month and hiking by 24.2% from the same month a year ago. The export value was around US$3.5 billion, up by 2.9% from last month, skyrocketing by 156% year on year.

In the first five months of 2021, Brazil exported roughly 134 million tons, increasing by 16.1% from the same period last year. Among them, China was the major destination, followed by Malaysia and Bahrain.
