Brazil’s aluminum can recycling index keeps flat in 2020

According to statistics from the Brazilian Aluminum Association (ABAL) and the Brazilian Association of Aluminium Can Manufacturers (Abralatas), Brazil’s aluminum can recycling index was reported at 97.4% in 2020, basically flat compared to the index in 2019.

In 2020, Brazil recycled 391,500 tons of aluminum, about 31 billion aluminum cans.

A clause was signed in November 2020, proposing to maintain the recycling rate of aluminum cans at 95%.
