China’s stainless steel imports from Indonesia surge in Jul

According to statistics, China imported around 140,000 tons of stainless steel from Indonesia in July, dropping by 0.3% compared to the previous month while surging by 443.6% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports of stainless steel square billet had a month-on-month increase of 5.6% and a year-on-year growth of 2084%. The figure totaled around 360,000 tons in the first seven months of this year, up by 2198% compared to the same period a year earlier.

In terms of cold-rolled stainless steel, the imports from Indonesia were roughly 18,500 tons in July, a month-on-month decrease of 26.4% and a year-on-year of nearly 170%. The figure from January to July was approximately 120,000 tons, rising by 167.2% year on year.
