China’s stainless steel imports rise, exports drop in Q1-Q3

Statistics from the Stainless Steel Branch of China Special Steel Enterprises Association showed that China imported roughly 1.14 million tons of stainless steel from January to September of this year, which was up by 28.57% compared to the same period a year ago.

During the same period, the export volume was around 2.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.17%.

Besides, the apparent consumption of stainless steel during the period reached approximately 18.53 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.01%.
