First Quantum Minerals, a Canadian-based mining and metals company, raised its 2020 copper production guidance from 725,000-770,000 tons in July to 750,000-785,000 tons, mainly due to the resumption of full operation of its Cobre Panama project, which was ordered to suspend by the government in April of this year.

According to First Quantum Minerals, the Cobre Panama project has a total copper output of roughly 62,000 tons in the third quarter, higher than the output in the same period in 2019.
