According to the International Organization of Aluminum Aerosol Container Manufacturers (AEROBAL), the global output of aluminum aerosol cans totaled approximately 5.7 billion cans in 2020, only slightly lower than the record level in the past few years. Besides, the global delivery had a year-on-year decline of 1.7% in 2020.

The drop in production and delivery was due to mobility restrictions during the COVID-19 epidemic. Moreover, the shipments of personal care and hair care products, which highly needed aluminum aerosol cans, had decreased during the period.

The production of AEROBAL members accounted for about 70% of all aluminum aerosol cans manufacturing output in the world.
