The researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras working with the University of North Texas and the US Army Research Laboratory have developed an engineered
magnesium alloy which might take the place of steel and aluminum in the automotive and aerospace industry.

According to the researchers, the new engineered magnesium alloy has many advantages, including strong, highly ductile, and lightweight.

Due to the advantages of lightweights, vehicles with these materials will take less energy. This magnesium alloy can increase energy-efficiency.
