According to statistics, India’s crude steel output totaled around 9.7 million tons in March, hiking by 19% compared to the same month a year ago.

In March, India’s steel consumption was expected to be 8.74 million tons, falling by 6% compared to the previous month while rising by 41% from the same month in 2020. The month-on-month decrease was because India’s steel producers increased their shipments to overseas markets when the export prices were competitive during the period.
