ISSF: Global stainless steel exports slide in 2019

According to the International Stainless Steel  (ISSF), the total exports of stainless steel products in the world were 19.30 million tons during 2019, a decline of 6.8% year on year.

Among all these countries, the only region which got a positive increase in this regard during 2019 was Eastern Europe, with an increase of 2.6% year on year.

The region which had the largest decline in 2019 was the North America Free Trade Area (NAFTA), which had a fall by 24.5%.

These figures showed that the international protectionist policies affected seriously on the global stainless steel trading activity.
