Japan’s crude steel output drops to below 100 million tons due to impact of epidemic in 2019

According to statistics, the total output of crude steel in Japan last year was around 98.43 million tons, decreasing by 4.3% year on year, which was not only affected by the trade war between China and the US but also affected by the epidemic of the COVID-19 epidemic seriously.

Based on that, more and more steelmakers in Japan decided to adjust their production plan to react to the weak demand from downstream, including automobile and construction industries.
