According to the result of an investigation launched in July 2020, the Malaysian government has decided to impose anti-dumping (AD) duties on cold-rolled stainless steel in coil, sheet or any other form originating or exported from Indonesia and Vietnam from April 24, 2021.

Indonesia's AD rate range was set at 8.80-34.82%, and Vietnam's AD rate ranged from 7.81-23.84%, valid for 5 years till April 23, 2026.

Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said that the duties rate was to reflect the amount of the dumping margins.

The investigation was based on a petition filed by Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd, a steel-producing domestic manufacturer in Malaysia.
