Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, achieved a milestone year at its Bauxite Hills Operation, shipping a record 6.2 million wet metric tonnes (WMT) of bauxite in 2025, up by 9% compared to the previous year. This annual increase matches the company’s revised targets.

In December alone, the shipment amounted to 543,000 WMT, a year-on-year increase of 16%, even with weather challenges.

Production paused on January 3, 2026, as the site transitioned into its wet-season maintenance phase. This program includes dry docking the OFT Ikamba barge later this month.

With A$57 million in cash reserves against A$62 million in debt, Metro maintains a stable financial footing. The company now prepares for its next operational cycle.
