Metro Mining may close bauxite mine in Queensland

Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, may close its Bauxite Hills Mine in Queensland before the rainy season if there is no rising sales next month.

It was understood that the firm hasn’t had any other bauxite sales since this year, except for supplying 2.3 million wet tons of bauxite to China's Xinfa Group.

Metro Mining is currently having a negotiation with the smelters, and it was not sure if there are any sales contract in 2020.

Metro Mining will continue to monitor the market conditions in order to push the bauxite mine expansion project, which was expected to be launched the earliest in the second half of next year.
