Russia's En+ group proposes EU end tariffs on imports of low-carbon aluminum

It was reported that the European Union should end tariffs on imports of low carbon aluminum to help follow up the recovery of the COVID-19 industry and tackle climate change strategies, said the President of Russia's En+ Group.

Current aluminum in Europe has been imposed the tariff rates of between 3-6%, En + group is the world's largest low carbon aluminum maker - "russo joint company" (the major holders of key party), according to the company, removal of low carbon raw aluminum to impose tariffs, can save a year European industry tens of millions of euros of funds - also helps to reduce the carbon content in the aluminum industry.

En+ group focuses on reducing carbon emissions from the full aluminum process, with specific targets including reducing direct greenhouse gas emissions from electrolysis to 15% by 2025.
