Taiwan is initiating a sunset review of anti-dumping (AD) duties on certain aluminum foil from China, according to the Customs Administration. This review was launched based on the application filed by C.S. Aluminium Corporation (CSAC), which warns that lifting the five-year duty, set to expire on February 21, 2026, could lead to continued dumping and industrial damage.
The Ministry of Finance must conclude the dumping probe within six months. Also, the Ministry of Economic Affairs will conduct an industrial injury assessment. A final decision on whether to extend the duties will be made by the tariff rate review panel shortly after these findings.
The products involved are certain aluminum foil with aluminum purity over 99.3% but not exceeding 99.9%, and thickness below 0.007 mm but not less than 0.005 mm, rolled but not further processed, without surface treatment or backing, and single-sided bright, whether in coils or not. These products are under HS codes 76071120006 and 76071190001, mainly used for packaging materials such as food packaging and cigarette backing paper.
