It was reported that the prices of hot-dip galvanized and galvanized coils in the US remained strong recently.

US President Biden is considering withdrawing the 232 tariffs, which was to abolish the 25% tariff on imported steels, and allowing traders to import more preferential prices. However, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) urged opposition to this, saying that it would damage the viability of the US. steel industry.

According to statistics, the US steel imports in 2020 were 30% less than in 2018. At present, the lead time for hot-dip galvanized coils was more than 11 weeks, while that for galvanized coils was more than 12 weeks. Price increases on hot-dip galvanized and galvanized coils are accelerating.
