Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, announced that it consumed 1.57 billion units of renewable energy in FY25, marking a major step forward in its 2030 decarbonisation roadmap. Alongside this, Vedanta Aluminium reported an 8.96 per cent reduction in GHG-emissions intensity since FY21, strengthened its long-term plan to source ~1,500 MW of renewable power, and continued to scale energy-efficiency projects across operations, underscoring its leadership in India's low-carbon manufacturing transition.

In FY25, Vedanta Aluminium expanded its renewable-energy portfolio through long-term renewable power-purchase agreements, positioning clean energy as a central pillar of its operational strategy. Vedanta Aluminium has also substantially progressed across energy conservation, process optimisation, digital interventions, and resource efficiency. These include advanced waste-heat recovery, improved boiler and turbine performance, deployment of energy-efficient technologies, and real-time monitoring systems to reduce consumption across plant operations.

Vedanta Aluminium has also implemented several high-impact energy-conservation initiatives in recent years, including its patented potlining technology that delivers 200KWH / MT of aluminium in operational energy savings and enhances smelter efficiency. The organisation further achieved 378 MU of energy savings through comprehensive sustainability measures, reinforcing its ongoing focus on reducing overall energy intensity. Building on this momentum, Vedanta Aluminium’s FY25 achievements mark a significant advancement in its long-term clean-energy and decarbonisation journey.
