Vedanta to expand Lanjigarh alumina refinery

Vedanta, an aluminum producer in India, planned to invest approximately Rs 3,779 crore to raise the Lanjigarh alumina refinery’s annual production capacity to 5 million tons from the current 2 million tons.

According to Vedanta, the company’s board of directors has approved the expansion plan, while this project still needed the government’s approval.

Vedanta said that the expansion will improve Lanjigarh alumina refinery’s ranking in the world.
