WBMS: Global primary aluminum market has oversupply of 1.537 million tons in Jan-Aug 2020

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global primary aluminum market faced an oversupply of 1.537 million tons from January to August of this year, compared to an oversupply of 500,000 tons in 2019.

In the first eight months of this year, the global primary aluminum demand was 42.79 million tons, increasing by 203,000 tons from the same period in 2019.

During the same period, the global primary aluminum production had a year-on-year increase of 3.81%.
