A seminar, jointly organised by BetterCans, LLC and Ohio State University, is gaining attention in the metal packaging space. Designed for canmakers, non-canmakers, and brand owners, the event will feature key voices from the canmaking and beverage industries. With the theme "A Young Packaging for Future Generations," the focus will be on two-piece aluminium cans for beverages.

This two-day seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the key processes and materials used in aluminium canmaking and beverage packaging.

Participants will learn how two-piece aluminium cans are manufactured and explore the regulations governing materials that come into contact with ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages.

The seminar will follow the full lifecycle of a beverage can, from aluminium coil to the finished product. Key topics include can forming, filling, double seaming, and thermal treatments like pasteurisation and sterilisation, all essential for beverage safety and shelf life.

Sessions will be led by industry experts from leading organisations such as BetterCans, Arconic, Stolle Machinery, Henkel, INX International, PPG, Pneumatic Scale Angelus, OneVision, JBT Marel, and Ohio State University.

Event venue & date

The collaborative event, hosted by The Ohio State University's Department of Food Science and Technology, will take place from Wednesday, August 13, to Thursday, August 14, 2025.
