It was reported that Alcoa planned to have an official negotiation with the union on June 25, regarding the lay off the issue of its San Ciprian aluminum plant, which has been in severe losses.

The firm previously had an informal negotiation with factory workers on May 28, and this time it will have a 30-day formal negotiation with the union.

Alcoa aimed to reorganize its staff structure and have partial production cuts; however, the plan will affect 534 employees’ jobs.
