Alcoa in northeastern Brazil, has reduced its production by a third to approximately 7,000 tons per day due to technical issues. The production reduction will continue until the unloading capacity is completely resumed.

It was understood that one of the two ship unloaders at the Alumar refinery suffered structural damage. Therefore, the amount of bauxite for unloading was reduced, and now the existing inventories of bauxite are being used for supply.

Alcoa hasn’t disclosed a timetable for problem-solving and restoring overall production capacity.
