ArcelorMittal South Africa (AMSA) has reached an agreement with the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, increasing workers’ wages by 6.5% plus a R$5,000 once-off ex-gratia payment.

The increase will be backdated to 1 April and will be paid on the normal payday for the month of June 2022.

AMSA mentioned that they would make the business recover to operate promptly to ease the strike's impact.
