Brazil starts AD probe on carbon steel metal sheets coated with tin or chromium from Germany, Japan, Netherlands

Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) launched an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on metal sheets from Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands, following an application filed by domestic producer Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) in October 2024.

The products involved are metal sheets of carbon steel, alloyed or non-alloyed, of any width, with a thickness of less than 0.5 mm, in the form of coils, rolls, or sheets, coated on both sides with tin or with metallic chromium and chromium oxide. These products are under tariff codes 7210.12.00, 7210.50.00, 7212.10.00, and 7212.50.90 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).

The investigation period spans from July 2023 to June 2024, and the injury investigation period is from July 2019 to June 2024.
