Brazil’s pig iron exports fall by 26% in May

According to statistics from Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX), Brazil’s pig iron exports amounted to around 271,000 tons in May, experiencing a decrease of 26% compared to the previous month.

In the month, the exports were mostly to the US, totaling around 239,000 tons. Argentina ranked second with roughly 21,000 tons, followed by the Asian countries with 10,000 tons.

The deliveries in May were mainly shipped by suppliers in the Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, where a total of approximately 148,000 tons were shipped.
