Canadian steel and aluminum groups are calling on the government to impose tariffs on Chinese imports, to be in line with Canada's defense actions against China's excess production capacity along with the US and Mexico.

The Canadian Steel Producers Association stated that the overcapacity supported by the Chinese government is a clear and real danger to the Canadian steel industry.

Therefore, relevant organizations call on the Canadian government to take swift action and use comprehensive measures to include steel, aluminum, and electric vehicles in a single tariff scheme that is fully consistent with the US.
