Century Aluminum announced on July 19 that its wholly-owned subsidiary Norðurál Grundartangi ehf has signed a contract with Landsvirkjun, Iceland's National Power Company, to extend the existing 161 MW power agreement of Iceland’s aluminum smelter for another three years until 2026.

Moreover, the extension will increase it to 182 MW over time to provide the necessary flexibility to support the recent requirement of capacity improvement and opportunities of future growth for value-added products at this smelter.
