Chile's state-owned copper miner, Codelco, released copper production data for October, showing a 6.4% year-on-year increase, highlighting Chile's significant role in the global copper industry.

Escondida mine, operated by BHP, saw a notable 22% increase in production to about 108,000 tons. However, the Collahuasi mine, jointly operated by Glencore and Anglo-American, experienced a nearly 10% decline in production to nearly 50,000 tons.

Codelco's own production remained stable at around 128,000 tons, keeping flat year on year. If excluding minority stakes in Freeport McMoRan's El Abra and the local unit of Anglo American, it achieved a slight 0.5% growth and surpassed its target. Chile's copper production growth is attributed to efficient mine operations and continuous government support.
