China’s regulators cut the rising domestic prices from thermal coal in just 10 days of meetings and official notice last month.

Recently, Beijing intervened and regulated the condition, but China is still facing the challenge of keeping the fuel cheap and enough for the winter.

The price of thermal coal rose more than tripled in the 12 months in mid-October, which was used around 60% of China’s electricity supply. However, the price was supported by post-pandemic industrial demand for power.

The electricity producers tried to cut supply on soaring coal prices; however, Beijing asked to increase production and implement measures from prices targets to a crackdown and investigate into the data providers.
