China’s Ansteel posts lower operating income in H1 2023

China’s Ansteel Group reported that the company’s operating income was CNY 58.83 billion in the first half of this year, falling by 16.3% compared to the same period a year ago. The net loss attributable to shareholders was CNY 1.346 billion, compared to a profit in the year-ago period.

During the period, the output of iron, steel, and materials totaled around 13.22 million tons, 13.83 million tons, and 12.62 million tons, up by 0.72%, up by 2.44%, down by 0.35% year on year, respectively.

Meanwhile, the sales of steel products reached approximately 12.79 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.95%.
