China’s bauxite & aluminum scrap imports grow in May

According to statistics, China imported around 11.97 million tons of bauxite in May this year, growing by 7.55% compared to the previous month and by 31.4% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, China’s aluminum scrap imports totaled around 101,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 15.9% and a year-on-year growth of 194%.

In the first five months of this year, China’s bauxite imports amounted to approximately 55.81 million tons, up by 24% year on year. The imports of aluminum scrap reached roughly 506,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 37.5%.
