China’s stainless steel imports decrease in May

In May, China’s stainless steel imports were nearly 230,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.84% and a year-on-year drop of 24.05%.

In the first five months of 2022, China imported stainless steel with around 1.41 million tons, increasing by 19.41% month on month and growing by 21.46% compared to the same period of last year.

Among them, China imported stainless steel from Indonesia with around 189,000 tons in May, decreasing by 3.53% month on month and falling by 24.46% year on year.

In terms of exports, in May, the exports of China’s stainless steel totaled about 487,000 tons, increasing by 27.5% month on month and growing by 32.94% year on year.

From January to May, China exported stainless steel with about 1.93 million tons, increasing by 33.7% month on month and rising by 13.44% year on year.
