China’s stainless steel imports, exports drop in Q1

According to statistics, China’s stainless steel imports amounted to around 461,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, dropping by 51.2% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Indonesia accounted for 344,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 57.7%.

In terms of exports, China exported a total of around 967,000 tons of stainless steel in the first three months of this year, down by 8.9% year on year. The net export volume was 506,000 tons, soaring by 331.7% compared to the year-ago level.
