China's steel billet exports drop in Oct

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s steel billet exports totaled 1.17 million tons in October, a month-on-month decrease of 21.4% and a year-on-year drop of 4.3%. Standard square billets accounted for the largest portion of these exports at 56.96%.

The cumulative exports for the first ten months of 2025 reached 11.9 million tons, surging by 157.2% compared to the same period last year.

In terms of imports, steel billet imports for October rose by 36.1% month on month and dropped by 69.8% year on year, totaling 30,000 tons. For the January-October period, imports amounted to 636,300 tons, plummeting by 62.61% year on year.
