In the first half of this year, China’s steel exports were expected to be higher than the domestic market demand. According to data, in the first four months of this year, China’s steel exports totaled about 28.01 million tons, hiking by 55% year on year. The steel exports in the first half year were expected to be over 40 million tons, hiking by more than 30% year on year.

Regarding China’s domestic market, the steel demand was obviously lower than forecast. The real estate investment didn’t improve the domestic steel demand. In terms of outlook, China’s steel consumption was under resumption, but the market was still unstable. Therefore, China's authority should implement long-term measures to stabilize the steel industry.
