Chinese main steel manufacturers’ pig iron, crude steel & steel products output decreases in early Apr

According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in early April, the daily average pig iron output from China’s main steel manufacturers was about 1.91 million tons, increasing by 2.16% from late March but decreasing by 6.68% from the same period a year ago.

During the same period, the daily average crude steel output amounted to about 2.11 million tons, slightly decreasing by 0.47% from the end of March and dropping by 9.05% year on year. Meanwhile, the daily average production of steel products was about 1.98 million tons, decreasing by 6.72% compared to late March and declining by 9.35% from the corresponding period a year ago.
