Chinese rebar production increases in Jan-May

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China produced roughly 100 million tons of rebar from January to May, going up by 1.3% from the same period a year ago. The production of wire rod was approximately 61 million tons, going down by 1.5% year on year. The output of medium-thick wide steel strip was around 66 million tons, hiking by 7.9% year on year.

In May, the production of rebar was about 24 million tons, increasing by 9.1% year on year. China produced around 14 million tons of wire rod and 14 million tons of medium-thick wide steel strip, rising by 3.8% and 6.1% year on year, respectively.
