Emirates Global Aluminium hits 50 million ton production milestone

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a premium aluminum producer based in the UAE, has achieved a significant milestone, announcing it has produced 50 million tons of cast metal since beginning operations in 1979.
EGA started as a small regional smelter in Jebel Ali, initially producing only 135,000 tons annually. It is now a global giant, making approximately one in every 25 tons of aluminum worldwide.
The metal is the largest UAE export after oil and gas, shipped to over 50 countries.
CEO Abdulnasser Bin Kalban affirmed the significant contribution of this important UAE product to the world.
