According to the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA), European shipments of aluminum foil totaled 191,000 tons in the third quarter of this year, falling by 20.8% compared to the same period a year ago, due to weak demand amid the global high inflation and interest rates.

In the first three quarters of the year, European aluminum foil shipments, including domestic and overseas deliveries, amounted to 636,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 13%.

Bruno Rea, Chair of the EAFA Roller Group, said that the recovery is expected in 2024, and the demand for packaging should recover with the coming festivals.
