Germany’s secondary aluminum production falls in H1 2024

In the second quarter of 2024, Germany's secondary aluminum production increased by 4% year on year to around 725,000 tons. The output of semi-finished aluminum products fell by 1% year on year to 586,000 tons.

In the first half of the year, the production of secondary aluminum in Germany amounted to approximately 1.41 million tons, down by 2% year on year. The output of semi-finished aluminum products reached 1.12 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 4%.

Among them, the production of rolled products slid slightly by 3% to 912,000 tons, and that of extruded aluminum products dropped by 9% year on year to 247,000 tons.
