Global crude steel output decreases in Apr

According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), in April, global crude steel output decreased by 5% year on year to about 156 million tons. Among them, the output from Asia reached about 115 million tons, declining by 5.8% from the same month a year ago.

In specific, China was the biggest producer in Asia, decreasing by 7.2% year on year to 85.9 million tons. In addition, the output from the EU’s 27 countries increased by 1.1% year on year to 11.3 million tons.

The production from Turkey, North America, and Africa grew by 4.5% year on year to 2.8 million tons, decreased by 5.2% year on year to 8.9 million tons, and rose by 1.8% year on year to 1.4 million tons, respectively.
