Global primary aluminum market has surplus of 135,500 tons in Dec 2023

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), global primary aluminum production was 5.9719 million tons in December last year, consumption was 5.8364 million tons, and the supply surplus was 135,500 tons.

Meanwhile, global bauxite production was around 32.36 million tons, and global alumina output was 11.87 million tons.

In the whole year of 2023, global primary aluminum production amounted to approximately 69.76 million tons, consumption was around 69.18 million tons, and there was a surplus of roughly 580,000 tons. Global bauxite production reached roughly 390.14 million tons, and global alumina production totaled around 141.67 million tons.
