Global primary aluminum production increase in Jan

Global primary aluminum production in January 2025 totaled 6.252 million tons, an increase from 6.086 million tons in the same month last year, according to the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) data.

In the month, the global average daily output of primary aluminum was 201,700 tons, keeping stable from the previous month.

In China, the estimated primary aluminum production in January was 3.74 million tons, slightly up from the revised figure of 3.734 million tons in December 2024. Production in other regions of Asia was 411,000 tons, rising from 409,000 tons in the previous month.
