Global stainless steel production increases in Q2

According to the World Stainless Association, global stainless steel production was 16.36 million tons from April to June 2025, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 5% and a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.

During the second quarter of 2025, China's stainless steel production was 10.54 million tons, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 9.6% and a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. Other Asian countries produced a total of 3.49 million tons of stainless steel, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 2.2% and a year-on-year increase of 4.1%.

The US produced 559,000 tons of stainless steel, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 1.1% and a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Europe produced 1.54 million tons of stainless steel, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 4.1% and a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%
