Taiwan’s stainless steel mills raised 304 products’ prices by NT$3,000/ton for November and maintained prices of other series products. Market participants said the actual price was NT$1,500-2,000 higher than that in October, and the market price was also raised. However, the high price still needs time to be accepted by buyers.

The ex-factory prices haven’t increased enough actually. Judging from the current situation, there is almost no profit from steel coils. There will be at least some profits if the steel needs processing, but not much.

Despite this, the recent news that Vietnam will no longer impose anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled stainless steel from Taiwan has led some sellers in southern Taiwan to start planning to return to the Vietnamese market, which has invigorated the sentiment in the stainless steel market.
