Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro announced that it planned to invest NOK 150 million (US$15 million) at its Henderson facility in Kentucky in the US to enhance Hydro’s leading position in low-carbon aluminum production and reduce the environmental impact of the plant.

The investment will provide funds for two projects, including the installment of a new homogenization furnace to improve the plant's capability of recycling and an installment of a new baghouse to allow the plant to collect dust and gas, use more post-consumer scrap and handle different types of scrap metal, further improving the air quality of the plant and reduce the overall carbon footprint.
