India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended imposing anti-dumping (AD) duties on the imports of certain flat-rolled aluminum products originating in or imported from China applied in solar manufacturing.

An AD investigation has been launched, covering a period from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, based on an application submitted by Indian enterprise Hindalco Industries Limited, representing the domestic industry.

The petitioners claimed that the Indian market has been injured by the dumped flat-rolled aluminum products from China, so the domestic producers couldn’t sell their products and led to an overstock.

It was understood that the flat-rolled aluminum products from China hiked to 64% from 39% during the period of investigation. Also, DGTR confirmed that the Indian market share shrank by 12% while China’s was up by 35% during the given period, showing that the Indian domestic market was harmed by the dumping fact.
