India's commerce ministry recommends continuing AD duties on China’s aluminum foil

India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recommended continuing the imposition of anti-dumping (AD) duties on aluminum foil of thickness ranging from 5.5 microns to 80 microns originating in or exported from China, for another five years to protect the domestic industry.
A notice from the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) showed that the expiry of the existing AD duties is likely to injure the Indian market as China is continuing dumping its products into India.
The proposed AD duty rate ranged from US$469 to US$1,106 per ton.
The applicants Hindalco Industries, Raviraj Foils, and Jindal India jointly submitted an application for a sunset review investigation, seeking to extend the AD measure.
